About Me
Hard hat area
These things are always difficult to write. Whilst I work out what to put,
I'll just include a few boring facts.
Mail me if you have any good
ideas on what to put!
Personally...
I'm 31 years old, educated at Colfe's School and then Thames Polytechnic
(now known as
The University of Greenwich). In
case that means anything to you.
I ended up with a B.Sc (Hons) in Computing Science.
I live in South East London with a house, car, 2 cats, a budgie and 23
goldfish of sorts (spot which of the above is a lie?).
Professionally...
After graduating, I ended up working for
Sainsbury's, (more by luck than
by design) where I'm currently employed on systems dealing with the plastic
cards that are swiped at checkouts: Credit cards, Debit cards etc.
Most of the work is on IBM 3090 mainframes using COBOL, CA-Telon and
CA-Easytrieve; although I'm using
Tandem machines now too.
...And Privately
Apart from using my Acorn RISC PC
(which I've expanded lots) for programming and internet work, I also run
the North Kent Amateur Computer Club.
Getting away from computers, I'm a big public transport enthusiast, I'm
currently building an ambitious model railway layout, and I've (almost)
finished constructing a garden pond.
