Synopsis:

Engineer Greg Preston arrives back in England by helicopter. After discovering his wife dead, he drives aimlessly across the country encountering 'spoilt bitch' Anne Tranter and Vic Thatcher. Vic is injured in a tractor accident, but Anne callously tells Greg he is dead. Abby encounters ex-union leader Arthur Wormley who is bent on imposing his own brand of martial law.
