| Synopsis: |
Bodie and Doyle are following a man who takes fright when he
realises he is being followed. They follow him into a block of
flats, and when he surprises Doyle with a gun, Bodie shoots him
dead.
Doyle befriends Anne, a witness to the shooting, and they become
very close.
Doyle tries to find a friend and informer of his, Benny; but when
he does so, Benny is lying comatose. He later dies in
hospital.
Cowley drives round to Doyle's to give him the bad news, and sees
Anne dining with Doyle. When Bodie tells him that there may be
wedding bells on the horizon between Doyle and Anne, Cowley
orders Bodie to investigate Anne, as no CI5 employee may get
married without Cowley's permission.
Unfortunately, Bodie discovers links between Anne's father and
Benny's death. Doyle isn't happy when he finds out, and Cowley
suspends him. Doyle becomes suspicious though, and accompanies
the others on a mission to catch some drug runners - and Anne's
father is suspected to be amongst them.
